Here at the studio we have a flock of professional engineers that migrate to and from based on projects needs and specialties. 

 

The lead bird is owner Andreas Meyer.

Team Swan Studios NYC is proud to have earned 13 Grammy nominations including for our work as Reissue Mastering Engineers on Sony Masterworks "Marian Anderson, the Complete RCA Victor Recordings".  

 

This was in addition to our other nomination in the Best Classical Choral Performance for Conspirare The Singing Guitar. We were present for the celebration in Las Vegas this year and congratulate our fellow competitors on a fine job by all!

ANDREAS MEYER

Andreas Meyer

Andreas K. Meyer has been working in the music industry as a Producer/Engineer to first tier musicians since 1995. 

 

A partial roster list includes such renown artist as Hilary Hahn,  Joshua BellYo-Yo MaEsa-Pekka SalonenArcadi Volodos, The Los Angeles PhilharmonicThe New York PhilharmonicConspirare, and jazz greats like Ethan IversonTom Harrell, and Jack DeJohnette are just a few.

 

His credits span hundreds of releases over dozens of record labels and has acquired four Grammy Awards and 13 nominations. 


After leaving Sony Music Studios NYC, Andreas opened Swan Studios NYC post-production / mastering studio at the top of Central Park.  His focus in alternative rock, R&B, and Modern Jazz mastering has brought him to the forefront in the industry. Record labels include  Legacy RecordsDeccaUniversal Music,  Sony MusicMosaic RecordsImpexBridgePentatone, and many more.

 

Some of his classical producing can be heard with Grammy winning The CrossingConspirare,  Isai Jess Munoz, and Hilary Hahn featuring the world premiere recording of the 2010 Pulitzer Prize winning composition by Jennifer Higdon for Deutsche Gramophone, as well as Hilary's latest solo J.S.Bach album. 


As a composer, Meyer has been recognized by the Society of Composers, Inc. and the Society for Electroacoustic Music. He was also awarded the ASCAP Grant for Young Composers in 1994. It is through his compositional perspective and unique comfort with technology that he is able to transcribe the artistic into a media for all to enjoy.

The echelon lead of the studio is often guided by Nancy Conforti.

NANCY CONFORTI, SENIOR AUDIO ENGINEER

Nancy Conforti

Nancy Conforti holds a Bachelor of Music from The Hartt School in Music Production & Technology, as well as a Master of Music from McGill University in Sound Recording.

 

Nancy maintained a well-rounded musical education in clarinet and voice performance, while excelling in her engineering studies. During her time in school, Nancy sought experience outside of the classroom with internships at Ghost Hit Recording Studio near Northampton, Massachusetts with Andrew Oedel and with Jim Chapdelaine in Hartford working on audio for TV broadcast.

 

Nancy also held summer recording engineer positions at the Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan and the Aspen Music Festival in Colorado.

 

Additionally, Nancy held a position at the Yale School of Music, functioning as a simultaneous audio, video, and webcast engineer. 

 

She currently works as a freelance mixing and mastering engineer out of New York City, with releases on labels such as Sony Masterworks, Mosaic Records, Funnybone Records, Dots Per Inch Music, No Sleep Records, and Plastic Masses, amongst other self-released works.

 

Nancy continues to explore genre and style, believing at the core in good music that sounds good.

BRIAN LOSCH, SENIOR RECORDING ENGINEER

Brian Losch

A frequent visitor to the flock at Swan Studios NYC, Grammy-winning engineer Brian Losch has found the perfect nest for his post-production work while in town. Having found an ideal environment here for high-level post-production work, Brian continues to trust Swan Studios as his creative base in New York — a place to edit, mix, and master with the precision and artistry his projects demand.

We’re proud to regularly bring Brian into the fold for remote recording sessions as well — including complex international productions in Romania and Ukraine — where his expertise, calm under pressure, and commitment to excellence are invaluable. Recognized multiple times by the Recording Academy, Brian remains an essential part of our extended team here at Swan Studios.

JEANNE MONTALVO, RECORDING ENGINEER

Jeanne Montalvo

Jeanne Montalvo is a Grammy-nominated audio engineer and award-winning radio producer. She was selected amongst thousands of applicants as the 2018 EQL resident at Spotify Studios and Electric Lady Studios in New York City, assisting in the recording process for artists like John Legend, Cultura Profética, Alessia Cara, Anitta and many more. She has also recorded sessions with Ivy Queen, Ella Bric, Making Movies and Ruben Blades, Flor de Toloache, and Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra.

 

In 2017, she was nominated for a Grammy Award as Mastering Engineer for Vladimir Horowitz: The Unreleased Live Recordings, and her recording of Multiverse by Bobby Sanabria's Latin Jazz Big Band was nominated for Best Latin Jazz Album at the 2012 Grammy Awards. She’s worked at the Banff Centre for the Arts, and the Tanglewood Music Festival, as well as on location sessions with Swan Studios NYC for Spike Lee.

 

Jeanne’s wings often glide her into our Studio West, where she produces and engineers a range of projects—from vibrant Latin music albums to top-tier historical reissues. With a sharp ear and deep musical insight, she brings creativity and technical precision to every session. 

​

Taking full advantage of our premium isolation booth and elegant sight lines, Jeanne also produces audio and visual podcasts and promotional content from the studio, delivering polished results that resonate across platforms. Whether she’s crafting a new album or shaping a story through sound and image, Jeanne remains a vital part of our extended Swan Studios NYC family.

SHANE CARROLL, AUDIO ENGINEER

Shane Carroll

Shane Carroll is a classically trained drummer with a Bachelor of Music in Music Production & Technology from The Hartt School, where he graduated summa cum laude. His musicianship provides him with a unique ear for audio, which he has honed through extensive professional experience as an audio engineer. 

​

Currently, Shane serves as an audio engineer at Swan Studios, where he has worked on remastering projects for renowned labels like Sony Masterworks and Mosaic Records. 

​

In his role as Lead Audio Engineer at Magic Shop Archive & Restoration Studios, Shane has digitized and restored recordings for iconic artists such as Joan Jett and Leonard Cohen. 

​

Additionally, as the owner of The Barn Door Studios, he produces and edits a variety of projects, including the “Origin Stories with JJK” podcast hosted by New York Times Best Selling Author Jarrett J. Krosoczka. 

​

When he’s not in the studio, Shane plays drums for several projects, including Peach Party, Lila Wilde, Rebby Han, and Murphy.

JENNIFER NULSEN, AUDIO ENGINEER & PRODUCER

Jennifer Nulsen

A frequent flier in the world of high-level audio production, Grammy-nominated engineer Jennifer Nulsen brings her exceptional versatility and experience to the Swan Studios NYC flock. Whether soaring as a recording, editing, mastering, or assistant engineer, Jennifer has contributed to acclaimed projects across North America with artists such as the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Boston Pops, Renée Fleming, Dallas Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony, Yo-Yo Ma, Hilary Hahn, Béla Fleck, and many more. 

​

Her work as a producer spans both stage and studio. She has produced concert recordings for leading ensembles including the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra, Cleveland Orchestra, Dallas Symphony, and Yale School of Music, often combining audio excellence with live multi-camera web streams. In the studio, her productions for theatrical chamber orchestras at the Hartt School have supported nationally recognized theater works. 

​

At Swan Studios NYC, Jennifer has lent her talents to both audio and visual projects, including productions for the Kingston Chamber Music Festival, The Choral Society of New York at Grace Church, and most recently with the Spoleto Music Festival Orchestra 2025. She was also a co–Grammy nominee with the studio for Best Historical Reissue — a testament to the caliber of her work and her seamless integration into our creative team. With every project, Jennifer brings a keen ear, technical precision, and a collaborative spirit that elevate all who work alongside her.

BEN HADLEY, RECORDING ENGINEER

Ben Hadley

Now in his second season with the Swan Studios NYC flock, recording engineer Ben Hadley brings a focused expertise in both remote classical recording and post-production. Ben has played a key role in engineering a wide range of sessions for us, both in the field and back at the nest. 

​

His recent work can be heard on the 2024 releases from the Spoleto Festival USA Chamber Music Series, with the upcoming 2025 recordings soon to follow. He is also featured on several forthcoming titles from our in-house record label, Meyer Media LLC. 

 

With a strong background in classical and acoustic music, Ben’s previous session work includes renowned productions such as the Paul Winter Solstice Concerts at the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine in New York City, and orchestral sessions with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood. His steady hand, attentive ear, and calm presence make him a trusted and valuable member of our extended team.
