Holly Roadfeldt

American pianist Holly Roadfeldt has established herself as one of contemporary music’s most prolific ambassadors, credited with over 150 world premieres by more than four dozen composers. Praised by Gramophone as a “vivid pianist” with “beautiful playing,” Holly has appeared on stages and venues across Canada, Europe, Asia, and over 30 U.S. states, known widely for lecture recitals that present old alongside the new.
Her flagship artistic endeavor, “The Preludes Project”, saw Roadfeldt premiere 65 preludes by 16 composers in a tour across the United States—the venture would later lead to her debut album of the same name, produced by multi-GRAMMY® award winning producer Andreas Meyer on PARMA Recordings.

Holly Roadfeldt - Anthony Lanman: Hommages
HOMMAGES, the new album from composer Anthony Joseph Lanman. The click of a metronome, haunting melodies, a wild flourish transcribed from a famous virtuoso guitarist, and seemingly random pitches repeated through a looper pedal on which other colors emerge. These are the expressions of vulnerability through sound heard in Anthony Joseph Lanman’s HOMMAGES.
Pianist Holly Roadfeldt transports us to Eddie Van Halen’s arena, behind Hayao Miyazaki’s camera lens, within the frenetic energy of Frank Zappa, to Hildegard von Bingen’s visions, above the monumental canvas of Jackson Pollock, and so on. Through Roadfeldt’s poetic interpretations of Lanman’s compelling vignettes, we recognize these piano miniatures are more than a sonic journey but provide us with the artistic inspiration and human connection we so often desire.
