Transcontinental - Music Without Borders - MM23054

Winner of two Silver medals from the Global Music Awards, Music Without Borders addresses the commonality of the human experience across disparate cultures by marrying two immigrant composers with the culturally diverse music ensemble, Transcontinental.
The compositions of Barker and Ben-Amots complement each other very well and were chosen for this aspect as well as the commonality of their instrumentation. Having both studied under Pulitzer-prize winner, George Crumb, Barker and Ben-Amots’ music shares a common aesthetic and philosophical approach. In addition, both composers share great interest in their respective Celtic and Jewish cultural heritages and, as a result, incorporate their respective folk musics into their compositional styles.
